We don't write often about entertainment events taking place in New York City -- you have the New Yorker for that -- but in this case, we couldn't pass up the opportunity. Adam Niewood & His Rabble Rousers will be playing Wednesday night (Feb. 1) at K'av'eh'az, a gallery/cafe at 37 W. 26th St. Niewood, a saxaphonist, is part of a well-known Glen Ridge musical dynasty. Adam's mother, Gurly, is a classical pianist and clarinetist, as well as piano teacher to half of the kids in town. Adam's father is a jazz saxaphonist for Liza Minelli, among others. And his sister, Elizabeth, now in college, often graced the Glen Ridge stage. Adam's set is from 9:30 pm to 12:30 am Wednesday night. For more info, call K'av'eh'az at 973.343.0612.
