Improv at the Baird
Multiple

Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre, professional Theatre in Residence at the Baird Center in South Orange, presents improvisational comedy with Multiple Personality Disorder, on Saturday, December 3 at 8pm.

Multiple Personality Disorder features a rotating cast of Dreamcatcher regulars Clark Carmichael, Harry Patrick Christian, Laura Ekstrand, Noreen Farley, Melissa Jane Martin, Dave Maulbeck, Janet Sales, Jeff Stone and Harriett Trangucci. Often, guest performers from the New York City improv scene drop in to participate as well. The show includes improvisational comedy sketches like those seen on the popular television show Whose Line Is It Anyway? and uses audience suggestions to shape the scenes that the actors instantly create onstage.

Performers use ingredients such as everyday objects, strange maladies, and unusual circumstances to cook up unconventional mini-plays that appear and disappear in a matter of minutes. At the troupe’s last performance in September, scenes took place in a bowling alley, at a reading by a Swedish poet, and included a This Is Your Life improv retrospective of one of the audience members.

All tickets are $10. The performance is at the Baird Center, located at 5 Mead Street in Meadowland Park, a few blocks from the center of downtown South Orange. For information and tickets contact Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre at the Baird Center, 5 Mead Street, South Orange, NJ 07079, 973-378-7754, ext. 2228.
