  • Thursday, September 29, Danskinetics benefit class for Katrina relief will be held at the Unitarian Church, 67 Church Street, Montclair from 7:30-9pm. Creative dance & movement...a workout for body and soul with Ellen Shapiro. Kripalu Danskinetics (r) teacher and Montclair area healer and coach. Suggested donation is $25 for adults and $10 for children over 6. (Not suitable for younger children) Bring water, mat/towel and clothes you can move and sweat in!   • Sunday, October 2, JazzAid Montclair will take place at the Montclair Art Museum from 3-8pm, with proceeds to benefit survivors of Hurricane Katrina. The Jazz Prophets, Denise Hamilton, Rich Cohen & Blues Prescription, D.Z.Vibe Blues Band, Jacques Johnson and New Orleans poet Yictov are expected to perform. A $20 donation will go directly to Habitat for Humanity, Feed the Children & ASPCA Disaster Relief and includes admission to museum galleries from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Church Street Cafe will be providing beverages on-site.   • Saturday, October 8, from 3-6pm, the East Orange YMCA presents After the Storm - this performance and auction will help pay rent and living expenses for specific families affected by the Hurricane Katrina. The event will be held at the YMCA’s Turrell Gymnasium, 159 North Munn Avenue, East Orange, NJ. Performances will include Gospel, Jazz, Broadway, Poetry, and Dance artists including a performance by world renowned Jazz saxophonist Oliver Lake.
