Curb Your Enthusiasm
Sopranos_cup

It's the little stories, the very little stories, that Baristanet so excels at. Captured here, curbside on Hamilton Road in Glen Ridge, is a Starbucks cup left by a crew member of the Sopranos in front of the home of landscaper George Buchmann after Tuesday's shoot. Buchmann, who saw the cup being set on the ground, is leaving it as a memento (and silent protest) of the crew's carelessness.

They'd Give It Back But They're Transfixed

Gazing_ball_2_1 What kind of town do we live in when the criminal element is out swiping ornamental gazing balls? News on the Watercooler yesterday that some brazen thief stole one of these, with pedestal, right out of a Montclair front yard!

Anyway, I just wanted others to be aware. Can you believe that there are people so bold these days that even your lawn ornaments aren't safe?

[Cue to Humphrey Bogart] "Of all the gazing balls in all the the towns in the all the world, they had to pick this one ..."

Hey MEWsies out there, the Barista puts dibs on this one for her next novel. No cheating.

Karma Violation: Three Counts

We would have taken a picture but then we would have had to double park -- just like the ice cream truck double parked in front of Ridgewood Ave. School in Glen Ridge -- at exactly 3 pm today, pick-up time.

Not only are there already way too many mom-mobiles there, here's just what we need: little kids running out in front of an SUV to get to the ice cream. Nevermind all the overweight Glen Ridge third- to sixth-graders or the obnoxious ice cream truck "music."

Karma violations 1.09 Reprehensibly Irresponsible, 2.01 Just Plain Rude and Obnoxious and 2.03 Blindly Self-Serving and Self-Obsessed.

Have a karma violation to report? The Barista deputizes you to make a citizen's arrest kvetch. Let us know.

(You can find out more about karma violation ticket books here.)
