Baristanet was saddened to hear about the tragic death of Kenny Sanchez, a 20 year old Bloomfield resident, killed in a motorcycle crash on Tuesday. Captain Michael Behre, of the Bloomfield Police Department, confirmed that May 2, at approximately 4:55 p.m., Kenny lost control of his motorcycle while traveling westbound on Watchung Avenue. He crashed into the wall of a private residence in the vicinity of 283 Watchung Avenue, and suffered severe trauma to the head. He was wearing a helmet. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene of the accident.
The incident is under investigation by Bloomfield Police's Traffic Bureau and the Essex County Prosecutor's Office. Captain Behre also told us that this is the second loss for Bloomfield High's class of 2003. Last June, a fellow classmate was killed in a fatal accident on the Parkway.
R.I.P. Kenny you'll be greatly missed. My deepest sympathies to his family and friends.

Kenny was special to everybody. He was truly our angel without wings when he was alive now he has his wings. I definately have to say that you saw how much love he had when you went to his funeral. Many people flew back home and drove out here just to pay their last respects. During the burial, his brother made a beautiful speech that touched us all. It made us laugh and smile mostly. After the speech it was as though he was telling us through his brother that everything is ok. It's ok to move on. Kenny make sure you set it up for us up there. I love you lil bro.

Kenny,
What can I say? The 2 years I gotten to know you back in BHS, showed me What a Wonderful, caring, and funny person you were. I wish I could do something to bring you back here with us. To attend your funeral was unreal, I keep your prayer card in my car. I look at it everyday and just think..NO..it's not Kenny who passed. I felt the pain of your family as they weeped for you. Kenny, If I had one wish, it would be for you to be here! I miss You! Thanks for being my friend for the short time in BHS.
LOVE YOU ALWAYS!!!! IN MY MEMORIES FOREVER!!!

I for one knew Kenny and rode bike with him too. So for me, it's hits a soft spot. This kid was such a humble kid. It's was shocking to hear that this happened when I got the call. I didn't know what to think. We went out a couple of times on our bikes and it crushes me that he's no longer here. It's scray b/c even today you can still call his cell phone. At 20 y/o, you're young & you makes decisions to do things. This is one of those reckless things that happened and ended up in tragedy. Bikes are not toys and everyone who rides them knows that. Too young & too much life to live. RIP Kenny...

Evveryone throughout our town knew Kenny was such a wonderful kid. Such a good hearted young man. One whom I was close to. He was a genuine soul and he will never be forgotten. His loss hit a lot of people hard including myself. I have lost friends before to homicide, drugs, etc.... but nothing has ever hit me harder than the day I had to say goodbye to my good friend Kenny. Please everyone be careful in whatever you do. The things you do and risks you take can end your life in a split second, and life is one thing you should never take for granted because you only get one. Kenny we love you, God bless your soul, R.I.P.
