...serving up your daily dish.
Remember last year's controversial tsunami-cookie-sending Brownie troop whose humanitarian gesture rocked Baristaville? The girls of Troop 239 are on-site tomorrow at Lackawanna Plaza, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. selling their last cases of Samoas, Do-Si-Dos, Thins Mints, and ...can you name the rest?
Last year, the cookies never made it to the Tsunami survivors, instead the troop sent money to the Red Cross. This year's profits will go to local charities. Any other girl scouts holding a booth sale this weekend, feel free to post here.

AAAH! Girl Scouts and their evil Girl Scout cookies! Oh, the humanity! My scale just can't take it!

I shall not eat a single girl scout cookie this year. I am fat enough as it is. Away! Fie! A pox on all your ancestors!

Evil? A bit jaded are we? Everything in moderation folks.
Troop 24 of Montclair will be at Clifton Commons from 9:30 until 3:00 PM on Saturday. Sure, out of town, but if you have a Target run ahead of you stop on by.

I thought the headline was referring to the Edgemont Park geese who, I noticed yesterday, were back in force.
Time for another allocation of $$$$ to implement the latest round of tactics.

Trefoils are great shortbread. Mmmmm. Wish they didn't use hydrogenated shortening. Got mine when a troop was selling in front of the Post Office on Glenridge Ave last month.

"Wish they didn't use hydrogenated shortening."
Same here...I am not allowed to have that. If they took out the offending ingredient, I'd buy 'em.

It's the Tragedy Of The Commons, Act III, scene iv.

Funny that this is a thread. My sister just left me a message inquiring about Do-Si-Dos and Tagalongs (the peanut butter-oatmeal and peanut butter-chocolate, respectively.) Do they still sell those? I'm a Samoas girl, myself.

Dog Mom: As a dad of one of the above Brownies, the answer to your questions is YES. Stop by the Pathmark tomorrow and Troop 239 will gladly hand over any number of boxes of your favs -- for the bargain price of just $3.50 per box.
