If the guy dies, does Cheney get charged?

Did anyone else catch Letterman the other night? That was a scream.

for the actual report by the sheriff's dept.

As far as I can tell, Cheney still hasn't apologized or expressed any regret that he shot a guy.

Is he simply secretive & reticent, as his friends claim, or the heartless goon he often appears to be? His actions over the weekend only lend credence to the latter view.

The graphic designers at the Washington Post had fun with this story: http://www.newsdesigner.com/archives/002466.php

Is it true that Cheney's trying to blame both the Cubans and the Mob?

Posted by: man in the street | Feb 15, 2006 9:47:09 PM

Someone will blame the Clintons.

If this was 'one of the worst days' of his life, what the heck was THE worst?

Posted by: RadonMan | Feb 16, 2006 9:44:32 AM

Really, RadonMan! LOL...when he said that, I said, "No s*&t!"

Posted by: Miss Martta | Feb 16, 2006 9:47:38 AM

maybe 9/11?

Posted by: Right of Center™ | Feb 16, 2006 9:48:16 AM

Radon - probably Dick's own heart attacks were his worst days. After all, his own life comes before those of friends and family.

Posted by: todd | Feb 16, 2006 9:49:30 AM

9/11? You can't be serious. He didn't almost get killed.

The heart attacks, I can understand.

Posted by: crank | Feb 16, 2006 9:54:19 AM

Yeah, there's nothing like have 8 strangers in your living room all talking to you at the same time, injecting all kinds of crap into your veins, all the while your trying to tell your wife where your life insurance policies are stashed.

And weeks later you get to find the little syringe covers under your sofa and stuff.

Pretty cool...

Posted by: RadonMan | Feb 16, 2006 10:04:08 AM

Crank,

I have no idea what his worse days were or (really) care. Who can know such things and to what end?

I find your interest in pronouncing judgement on his own characterization of his own days, very interesting.

It seems to indicate a hatred which needs continued "evidence" of his "lack of humanity".

Such things will harm the spirit of the hater much more than the hated. (ask Mazie)

HAHAHAHA Love the photo, love the caption.

I am NO fan of Dick "Greedy-Smurf-Spawn-of-Satan" Cheney's, but he did express remorse in his Fox interview.

Seems he and his victim both acted stupidly. Dick shouldn't be shooting without all fellow hunters in sight, and Mr. Whittington should have known better than to put himself near the line of fire. Duh!!!

Posted by: Mujer en Fuego | Feb 16, 2006 11:10:31 AM

I wish everyone would stop making such a big deal out of this. He can shoot anyone he wants. It's called "Executive Privilege".

Posted by: Jerry | Feb 16, 2006 11:22:31 AM

This is both entertaining and revealing.

Posted by: Right of Center™ | Feb 16, 2006 11:35:49 AM

ROC what's so entertaining or illuminating? It sounds like a three-year-old incessantly repeating "why, mommy, why?"

Posted by: Ginger | Feb 16, 2006 11:47:19 AM

ROC, Cheney has spent much of his life evincing his apparent lack of humanity. (Note the "apparent.") All I've got to go on is what I see. Many seem to agree that that's just his style. Fine, I react to it as I see fit.

9/11 couldn't have possibly been as bad for him as it was for me & thousands of other New Yorkers & DC-ers. Yes that hit a nerve.

I do have genuine sympathy for his heart attacks.

All that said, in the sound bites I heard on the news today, Cheney sounded quite troubled by what he'd done. It was a rare glimpse of humanity in the guy. So I'll cut him some slack at this point.

i'd rather hunt with dick cheney than ride with ted kennedy.

You better learn how to duck! Watch out for Elmer Fudd, you crazy rabbit!

Posted by: PAZ (AMiL) | Feb 16, 2006 10:07:33 PM

crank, stop apologizing. Jeezus, man, get a hold of yourself! Dick Cheney is evil incarnate, ROC is a pod, cathar is a mop-headed beast, George Bush is the anti-Christ. Stand up and be a man. What happened to your cojones?

Posted by: walleroo | Feb 16, 2006 10:08:29 PM

I shall not stoop to your baldly stark wallowing in innuendo, you, you, you sticky-tailed but shiny-pated marsupial, you.
