On Your List

What do you want Santa to bring you? What have you bought and wrapped already? And of course, anything else you want to talk about now...

Reported in the Times yesterday from the Montreal climate conference:

>> The National Environmental Trust distributed custom-printed noise-making rubber Whoopee Cushions printed with a caricature of President Bush and the words "Emissions Accomplished." <<

I would like a box full of those Whoopee Cushions, they'd make great holiday gifts for some friends of mine.

No they haven't turned up on eBay yet.

(And shame on the Times for redundancy. They ain't what they used to be neither.)

I just came home with a great pair of pull-on Merrill boots (furry inside, of course) to give to my husband, so he can give them to me on Christmas.

Sure, I could wait for him to think up his own gift ideas (or not). I also could just give them to myself today. But, it's a great big box that'll be fun to open, and it's just a whole lot safer to do the thinnin' for him.

Now, where did I put that invite to Frederick Goodman's grilled shrimp and wine evenings?

Richard Pryor, RIP. 95% of the alleged comedians filling cable tv 24/7 couldn't carry his shoes, much less fill them.

I got a an unexpected Christmas gift-I turned on the tube and found that one of my favorite movies was on-"It's a Wonderful Life"-I am always surprised by how overcome with emotion I am.

we were toggling between "the third man" and "it's a wonderful life" and "holiday inn" (or was it "white christmas") during hte eight o'clock hour. good fun. along with cstarling, we found george bailey's denouement still a tear-jerker.
