Sorry, Wrong Number

Bell_2 In the past few days, we've heard from Hillary, Bill, Jon --and, just to add a little interest, a member of the local Republican party. Who's been jingling your bell? And do you think we'll get a little peace and quiet when today's over?

Hmmm, let's see.
Saturday at 5:00: "Hahyah. This is Bill Clinton.."
Sunday at 7:00: "Hello. This is Jon Corzine."
Monday at 6:30: "Hi, this is John Edwards."

Posted by: cantgetenoughofbarista | Nov 8, 2005 8:55:35 AM

Oh Gawd, yes. Please. Make. It. Stop.

Posted by: Miss Martta | Nov 8, 2005 9:00:28 AM

Bwahahahahaaha. I am the man behind the phone calls!

Posted by: Marshall | Nov 8, 2005 9:02:10 AM

Sunday afternoon I got a call from Rudy.

Posted by: The Iceman | Nov 8, 2005 9:17:52 AM

I'll tell you who I have >not< heard from, not one word: My ward's democratic nominee for town council, Robert Chalet. Though a die hard democrat, I'll be voting for Republican Ray today.

Posted by: bloomfieldbetty | Nov 8, 2005 9:46:26 AM

The County Exec called, but I thought it was about a tax bill, so I hung up.

Posted by: Conan the Grammarian | Nov 8, 2005 10:28:17 AM

Corzine, Nia Gill, Joey D, maybe one from Forrester, but who knows. I don't keep track. I hang up immediately. Unfortunately, they still tie up the line for a few seconds.
I detest these pre-recorded phone calls.

Posted by: Bitpusher | Nov 8, 2005 10:39:50 AM

Nobody. Ever since I dropped my land line service completely last year in favor of just cellular service, I get no more annoying calls. I love it so far!

Posted by: Todd | Nov 8, 2005 11:01:29 AM

Forrester. And Andrea Forrester. Over and over and over and freaking OVER! If I had had any inclination to vote for him (which I don't) the incessant robo-dialing would have put me right off.

"I detest these pre-recorded phone calls."

If I was elected Governor, I'd make them illegal.

Posted by: Miss Martta | Nov 8, 2005 11:26:59 AM

Peace and quiet after today? I only hope.

Hillary C. called our house last night.

Posted by: Julie | Nov 8, 2005 11:29:44 AM

Jeez, Bill Clinton called our house last night, but I think he had the wrong number: nobody named Jennifer lives there...

Posted by: Conan the Grammarian | Nov 8, 2005 11:33:45 AM

Cantgetenough:
Call the Bloomfield Municipal Clerk at 973-680-4015, or the Essex County Clerk at 973-621-4921.

Be sure to VOTE!

Posted by: Lady D | Nov 8, 2005 11:41:03 AM

Conan,
LOL...Mr Clinton called my house asking for Tiffany!

Posted by: The Iceman | Nov 8, 2005 12:11:18 PM

Helllo everybody, You need to embrace these phone calls. Talk back to them. Have a conversation. If you are a fan, tell the caller how much you appreciate all that they've done for you.
If you are not a fan, scream and curse at them. It's really a lot of fun and can be quite theraputic.

When Hillary called, I talked back. I told her to f-off.

My 8 year old wanted to know who called.

Posted by: RidgeRanger | Nov 8, 2005 12:47:33 PM

I just picked up back to back messages from Doug and his wonderful bride Adriane.

Posted by: jb | Nov 8, 2005 1:38:52 PM

Nobody. Unpublished # + donotcall = bliss.

Posted by: Schizohedron | Nov 8, 2005 3:02:26 PM

Unpublished and do not call did not help in this case.

Bur you know, Bill and I are old friends...I did tell him never to call me at home...the husband might get suspicious!
