...serving up your daily dish.
Tonight, in Glen Ridge, parents try to put a stop to all those teen drinking parties. Carol Harpster, who told the Star Ledger last month that the borough is "a drink or two away from a child perishing," is in charge.
Concerned About Underage Drinking? If so, SafeHomes, a community-based
proactive program is for you!Come to our second meeting to hear more about the
SafeHomes concept, talk and network with other parents and
learn how you can become a member of the
Glen Ridge Safe Homes community.
The GRPD and a member of the Verona Safe Homes program are scheduled to attend. We are also looking for community members to serve on
a Parent Action Committee (PAC).
The meeting starts at 7:30 pm at the Glen Ridge High School library, with a meet-and-greet starting half an hour before.
"... a meet-and-greet starting half an hour before."
Will there be cocktails?

i think it is admirable and about time-parents and community working together to find a solution-i wish them the best of luck.

I'm not a betting man, but I'd put even money on the possibility of a kid hosting a kegger on Ridgewood Avenue while the concerned parents are all at this meeting.
Ah, high school drinking... the scourge of the affluent suburbs.

I saw an article about this is todays 11/16 Star Ledger - but I haven't had time to read it yet.
Did any Barista posters attend? If so, what did you think?
Also, parents beware - Thanksgiving weekend is a huge party weekend. Piles of college kids will be home, parties will be held, and Wednesday is the biggest bar night of the year traditionally. Even I will be bar hopping!
