...serving up your daily dish.
Really, really, really red. We knew Bobbi Brown had revved her natural look up a notch this fall, but her new winter look is positively Joan Crawford. (For fall, the featured Bobbi lipcolor was clay. For winter, cassis.)
In her own words:
Red lipstick is a holiday staple and an easy way to make your everyday look festive. It's a look — despite what you may think — that anyone, even you, can pull off.
Does she mean us? In the same article, Bobbi says she wears chocolate plum nailpolish for evening. We can't find that color on her website, but we're guessing it looks something like this.
"It's a look — despite what you may think — that anyone, *even you,* can pull off."
Wow. With a vote of confidence like that, who can resist?

Funny, whenever I've seen Ms. B around time, she doesn't appear to be wearing any makeup.

Being a male - I think it is time for women to unite and revolt against the trends in fashion, style and make-up imposed on them by a multi-million dollar industry.
Enough with the painted face, give me that natural God given beauty that each women posses!

I don't know about the darkest of reds, but most of us look better with a little color in their lips. And remember the white lipstick from the 60's? Ugh!

If you can think back to the second (?) Batman movie, when the Joker had poisoned all the cosmetics, and remember the physical appearance of all the TV news talking heads -- pasty skinned, blotchy, tired-looking, with zits, frizzy hair, and wispy eyelashes -- that's how all us natural beauties would look without at least a little bit of help.
You don't have to be Burt and Lonnie (you youngsters can look it up) to believe that just a little bit of help goes a long way.
But I agree you don't have to buy onto the seasonal cosmetic ratrace if you don't want to.

I was just at CVS--the cosmetics superstore for sensible people. (I didn't see chocolate plum--but they have cocoa berry)
