Good News/Bad News

That milestone we've been hinting at has arrived -- the half million mark. Sometime during the last 24 hours, Baristanet had its 500,000th visit to the site. We're at 501,127 as of this morning and glad to celebrate today with you. If you're a first time visitor, let us know. If you're a first time poster, long time lurker, we want to hear from you, too. And if you want to, uh, tell us about your first time (finding Baristanet that is), we'd love to get nostalgic with you.

The bad news is we've been experiencing problems with our ad server. Due to an influx of killer spam that attacked the server, wreaking havoc for other sites including ours, our right front page ad column (as many tipsters have let us know) has plotzed or blobbed. To our advertisers, we expect the problem to be remedied today and we extend our huge apologies and a promise to make it up to you in our own special way.

Congrats, Barista! So who was the 500,000th poster? Do they win $500,000!

I found this site after reading about it in the Star-Ledger. And the rest, as they say, is history!

Here's to your next 500,000 posts!

I assume there'll be an update for the technically minded once you determine whether it's a plotz or a blob.

I found this place thru links in the NJ forum on eGullet. B'net often has the scoop on restaurant news.

I visited the site after it was mentioned on Bloomfield forum, and was hooked instantly.

A friend pointed me to the site a couple of months ago. I visit every morning now and really appreciate the inclusion of Bloomfieldian happenings. I'm a former Montclair resident who still works there on Saturdays.

A google search brought me to Baristanet. I remember calling my friends and telling them that there's an entire website dedicated to "Bloomfield Ave." Now I'm an addict.

I'm new. Moved here two months ago to Glen Ridge and found you through google. I love the local restaurant reviews (only posted two myself though). Enjoying it. Plus, the neighbors are nice... grew up nearby and was expecting to be hit with upturned nosesn upon return. Quite the contrary! Baristanet adds a pleasantry to a newby looking for a good place to eat, chat, and read.

Daniella - weird coincidence!

To the Barista and her loyal subjects, thanks for giving me something to look forward to every morning! Congratulations on your success.

Baristanet rocks, as does Google (yep, that's how I discovered this awesome blog). More power to you!
