October 9
...serving up your daily dish.
As you likely know, the Yankees have not won the World Series since 2000, a time most of us can hardly remember. Tonight could be their last chance -- for this year. Meanwhile, it's never too early to plan for 2006.

In early voting, God has moved into a commanding lead (5-0). Looks like there's no hope for the Yankees next year.

Sorry. God has a long-standing and binding contract in place with the University of Notre Dame. You can't have Ortiz, but you could talk to Boston about Manny...

The Yankees need to develop or buy a new catcher and someone who can play centerfield (cause there's no way Hidecki can do that everyday)and a lefty DH. Much as we all love Tino, he's become an automatic out.

With GOD on their side how can the Yankees lose?
With the highest paid players in professional baseball how can the Yankees lose?
Perhaps if they do lose - as any other 'corporation' might do -- they should consider filing for bankruptcy!
And speaking of buying a new catcher -- ya think Montclair's favorite son Yogi Berra is ready to come out of retirement?

They can get some goodies if they trade Eric Duncan, a great young prospect. They need to dump Pavano and Wright in keep Small and Chacon for minimum to modest bucks.
It will be tough once the CASH-MAN is gone to the Nats. Sox are in the same boat as Theo's contract is up at the end of the month.

The world would be a better place if the Yankees recruited/signed on some new fans. Perhaps some not so arrogant, cocky and quick to point out how incredible the best-team-money-can-buy can be. Honestly...it is easy admire players like Jeter, Williams(!), Rivera, Cano, Posada...Torre and his staff. But the fans...ugh. Not all of 'em, and none under age 16, are ugly. But way too many are way too spoiled!
Cordially,
A (obviously) Mets fan
