Posthumous honor for sports great Clary Anderson, who joins other notables in the Sports Hall of Fame of New Jersey. Induction to be held today at the Meadowlands Plaza Hotel in Secaucus. From the Montclair Times:
Anderson, who passed away in 1988, is part of a distinguished class of inductees that includes Bloomfield’s Kelly Tripucka (basketball), Camden’s Mike Rozier (Heisman Trophy-winner from University of Nebraska) and Rutgers women’s basketball Coach C. Vivian Stringer.
The Sports Hall of Fame of New Jersey will once again be inducting this year’s class in a two-part ceremony. First, there is Saturday’s dinner, which begins with cocktails at 7 p.m. Then, on Sunday, Oct. 2, the 2005 induction class will be recognized during a special ceremony at Giants Stadium during halftime of the NFL game between the Giants and St. Louis Rams. Tickets for the induction, at $200 apiece, can be purchased by calling (201) 460-4377, or (201) 507-8134.
