...serving up your daily dish.
Get perspective on issues affecting schools tonight at a public forum, "The Impact of 'No Child Left Behind' Legislation on our Local School Systems." Presented by Montclair's League of Women Voters, the forum takes place at 7:30 pm, at the Montclair Firehouse (corner of Bloomfield Ave and Pine Street). Four panelists will address the issues:
Jessica de Koninck, director of Legislative Services for the NJ Department of Education

Lynda Theil, former Federal Congressional staffer for the Committee on Education and the Work Force
Terry Trigg-Scales, director for the Department of Instruction, Montclair Public Schools

Yo, Barista, thanks for the 3 + hour notice about tonight's meeting re: NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND -
This is an important issue that impacts our kids and our local school districts.
Surely BARISTA could have, as a public service, given its readers more of an advance notice!

Yo Franklin -
With all due respect, cut the ladies some slack. It's been on the watercooler for weeks, and in the Montclair Times.

This event has been listed for over a week in the events section of Baristanet.
Perhaps you missed it?

Naive me -- I didnt realize that Barista had an events section -- I only read the postings and BTW I dont subscribe to the Montcalir WaterCooler!
Hope to see ya all in a hour or so at the No Child Left Behind forum.

Naive me again -- where do I find the Barista Events section? I found the happenings section which lead me back to the present posting.
I need to hear from the help desk for future reference since I value the service provided by BARISTA in keeping its readership informed!

I think the poster is referring to the Entertainment Page. This particular event is in the Yada Yada Yada Section.
Go to the top of this page and click on the word Entertainment in the left hand column.
While you are at it, check the Food And Real Estate Pages also.

Laura:
Thanks, I found the listing under the heading entertainment - Yada Yada Yada.
Gosh that was the last place I would have thought of to find a listing for an educational forum -- under the heading of 'entertainment'.
The forum might be categorized as 'educational' but definitely not as 'entertainment'.
For the latter I prefer reading some of the postings on Barista -- they can be both entertaining and a cure for insomnia!

The Barista should either add a catagory called Events, or rename the Entertainment catagory.
Thanks for posting on the main page. It was well attended.

I'm glad you guys cleared this up. Is there anything else you need help with, Franklin? Is the TV working all right? Are you able to find the funny pages?
Posted by: walleroo | Oct 12, 2005 12:08:01 PM
walleroo = your comments are better than the funny pages.
Evidently other Barista readers shared my concerns.
In fact there was a suggestion posted above which would make Barista more reader friendly.
So stop being so critical - not everyone is as sophisticated as you claim to be -- I guess you walked before you crawled?
