...serving up your daily dish.
Word is that Bloomfield residents can call our very own Flu Shot Hotline, 973.680.4060 for up-to-date info on when flu shots will be available for the 2005 season. The Department of Health and Human Services does want to clarify that the only information they will be able to provide is what will be heard via that telephone number and by what is seen on local cable channel 35.
Some good proactivity on this, especially considering last year's situation with a shortage across the board.

Erin, I envy you. At a previous job, the owner also offered free flu shots to anyone who wanted one. It was beneficial to him since he reduced his employees sick time. Last year, I didn't get a shot because of the shortage. I'm asthmatic and I'm anxious to get one this year. Called the Blmfld hotline last night and there were no updates but they thanked me for my patience.

Our company offers them but there's a small fee. Never had the flu. In fact, the only time I ever felt "fluish" is when I got a flu shot a few years back!
Hope I'm just as lucky this year. They say that kids, people over 60, those who are immune-compromised or those who work in hospitals, day care centers, etc., are the main people who should get one.
