The Hissing of Summer Lawns

We think this is a guy thing. You know, stand there in Home Depot for half an hour, look at all the sprinklers with a furrowed brow, calculate water dispersal geometrics, think about the sound. At any rate, the Barista's guy is the one who came up with today's poll. Click on each sprinkler to hear what it sounds like. And then tell us: which would prefer on your lawn?

Over the years of walking through town, I have been educated about the different sprinklers. They all seem to do a good job of watering the sidewalk! And I thought they were to water the grass only...silly me.

Of the three sound bytes, I like #1 the best. But I still prefer the sound of larger, slower sprinklers on golf courses, or better yet, the sound of a gentle steady natural rain (think rain forest).

I, for one, will always like the sound and looks of the old-fashioned oscillating sprinkers. The best kind for running through, too.

oscillating are those the long ones that spray back and forth in an arch--if it is- that too is my favorite--and seriously reminds me of Summer and summer fun.

I voted for #2 and it told me it was the wrong answer I think not because that is my lawn...Which for the past several years looked like Glen Ridge lawn...but since we have had no rain it does not look like Glen Ridge lawn anymore....
