We Were There ... With a Camera
Dylan_willie_shirts

Reader Bruce Goodman summed it up with one Blackberry message: "Writing from the concert. Willy just finished Crazy.....beautiful night. The stadium has confiscated all contraband....no water, food, cameras. Beer is 7 dollars."

Actually, water, food and cameras were confiscated from those who came through the front door. But the nice folks at Floyd Hall Enterprises let the Barista in through a side door and told us we could take all the crowd pix we wanted. Reason for the camera ban: Dylan didn't want his picture taken.

awesome concert

The concert had the feel of a giant Montclair Bar Mitzvah reception.. which just happened to have Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan as the entertainment. The great fun of the show was the familiarity of the crowd. There were dozens of people I knew, moseying around between sets, stopping to chat, enjoying the beautiful night. My family enjoyed the Greek Deights food that my wife snuck into the stadiium. Thank you, Janice! Bob Dylan's band was unbelievable. - really cooking on a Chuck Berryish "To Be Alone With You", raising the heat on "Highway 61" and getting completelly incendiary on "Summer Days" - and Dylan milks so much expression out the three notes that are left in his voice.

It was a lot of fun. Horrendous traffic getting in and thankfully missed the opening act. Willie Nelson was terrific. Bob's band was great and I really enjoyed it. We brought the kids(how can you not bring your kids to see Bob Dylan when he's playing 5 miles away?), and they thought it was pretty good, too, though they did not particularly go for Bob's style of singing. We took off early as we didn't want to get caught in traffic on the way out.

Willie was lifeless, no energy. Seemed like he just awoke. He just phoned it in. Got a little better after 3-4 songs.
Bob Dylan had much more energy and effort, but unfortunately what voice he had has deserted him years ago. He was completely uninteligible, but charming and mystical in his way.
Crow was definitely the highlight!
Aging Bikers, Hippies galore!! Suburban baby boomers trying to be hip once again.

This an absolutely perfect description of the show. Great, Bob!
PS: We sneaked some stuff in too.
