Speaking of Eggs

Eggs Happy Easter! For a bunch of folks in Baristaville and beyond, yesterday was the real Easter (a.k.a. Orthodox Easter). If you happened to drive by the Greek church in Clifton or Orange this weekend and saw a lot of people carrying lit candles, they were celebrating (and trying not to burn the hair of the parishioners standing in front of them).

Ekmek On Sunday, my bro did a whole lamb on a spit, along with a gargantuan feast cookd by my beautiful (and pregnant) sister-in-law. We also played the egg-cracking game. Now, it seems a little cruel that Constantine was voted off Idol island right before the holiday. Hopefully, he drowned his sorrows in a slice of ek mek kataifi as incredible as this one.

This has nothing to do with Easter, but I've been dying for a chance to say it here on Barista..

Thank Goodness that Constantine is gone! I seriously thought he'd end up in the finals b/c of all the boy-crazy girls! (Though, he was at least better than Scott...)

What a shocking results show, huh?

I think the Barista needs a daily "open thread" where people can talk about whatever they want. Other blogs do this and it's fun.

Oh Butch, to be young and boy-crazy again...(or in your case, girl-crazy), but I wish he was still on. If know he wasn't your cup of tea, but I really digged him. Different strokes for different folks I guess...

no open threads! The skill of the hijack is in its formulation.

[no open threads! The skill of the hijack is in its formulation.]

and YOU want to call everyone else a conspiracy theorist? you think that everyone is suspect and that everyone is a bad guy.

open threads bring a lot of site traffic. it'd make it easier to discuss things going on in Baristaville that weren't initiated by the Barista herself. (and things you can't post on the WC or dont want to, etc)

traffic = ad sales.

well, his bad was signed to a record deal a few weeks ago and so you will hear from him again...

unfortunately, rock is what he does worst!

i think what did him in was that he wasn't very genuine. he first was "the rocker", but then when he couldn't pull that off as well as Bo, he instead turned into like the Teen Hearthrob, singing cheesy songs with cheesy seductive faces. Then he came out last week and tried to be the rocker again, but we all knew it wasn't true.

butch -- since we're talking AI -- i can't believe that they voted off constantine and anwar (he at least could sing!) and kept that no-talent BLOB named scott. if he's the "heart and soul" of america (as his mom said) be afraid.

who is keeping this total LOSER on the show? maybe other girlfriend-beating losers? who can fathom this?

he has the charisma of wet matzah.

go check out the AI disc. threads for some great cracks on scott. you'll get statements like:, "if scott wins AI, i'm moving to afghanistan," or "he sounds like a castrated mule." another person suggested that scott's win would signal the coming of the apocolypse. i agree.

OH! i just found out how scott is staying in the game. a website called: http://www.votefortheworst.com/ is getting millions of people to vote for scott for FUN!

Money quote: "Why bother voting for someone talented when this show can be so much more fun to watch? Scott Savol outlasting Carrie Underwood or Bo Bice? Now that's good TV!"

OY VEY IZ MIR!

I read this thread and I think: I am very old.

An other interesting topics forum is a great idea. I'm not sayin, I'm just saying. :)

I saw the people with the candles. Any chance they were using scented soy candles? that would have made the celebration more fun!
