...serving up your daily dish.
The post-party letdown (boy, I had fun!) is somewhat easier when you can reach into a goody bag and indulge in a decadent brownie from Gina's Panificio (thanks Gene!). Our goody bags were pretty amazing, what with toffee from Nicky Mesiah, bath & shower gel from Whole Foods, a flying disc from the Barista girls (proudly display in your car's rear window -- so much cooler than a bobble head), free food certificates from Marzullo's, Round Trip Fare, Church Street Cafe, and discounts on lingerie and liquor from Intimate Engagements and Romany Liquors respectively (thanks to Felix, who along with Brinley Rum, kept the liquor flowing). There were more goodies, so if I forgot anyone, please forgive me. A special thanks to Heather whose mango tinis made the night extra special, the entire Church Street Cafe staff and the kids who looked great and served even better.
For those I did get to meet (you know who you are), I had a blast. And if I called anyone Dick who wasn't, please accept my apologies. Like I said, I really enjoyed those mango tinis. On behalf of Deb and myself, a big thanks to our more silent and sensible partner, the business-savvy Laura Eveleth, who rounds out the trio that is Barista. Some more party pics here.
Nancy Mehegan, who walked in with hers already pinned to her jacket.
Best crowd scene: See anyone you know?

Liz, boy are you right about those brownies. Oh. My. God. Nice meeting you and Debbie at last, and also nice meeting some fellow Baristas, including latebloomer. I was too shy to stay and meet many more. Maybe next year and a few more mangotinis....
Mazel tov to all the barista gang!

Yes! The mangotini!
Who was the bartendress who concocted that marvelous drink?
She told me what went into it, but I had one mangotini too many and forgot...
Recipe please????????

Awesome brownie! Half of it became my bedtime snack, with a glass of milk. YUM!

I loved that coffee flavored Brinley rum drink! That was the nicest party that I've attended in quite a long time. Everyone will be talking about the impeccable service & food too--for a long time coming.... What a blast! The buzz all evening was 'what a fantastic party!'
CONGRATULATIONS AND 'THANK YOU' BARISTA!

Damn, I missed the mangotinis-- maybe because I got there late. The red wine sure was good, though-- esp on an almost empty stomach, which I filled up with Godivas left over from Mother's Day upon returning home. The brownie still awaits. . .
Thanks again, all, for a mahvelous evening!

Glad the party was a hit, everyone! I just found Baristanet a few weeks ago, and I LOVE the site! I'm so very excited because none of my friends in the 'hood knew about it until I mentioned it. At long last, I am the first among my people to be privvy to something cool on the internet. :) I wanted to come to the party last night but figured I'd wait until next year when we're better acquainted. Alas, after 3 happy years in Montclair, I'm moving to Maplewood at the end of May, but I'll stay in touch thanks to you, Baristanet!

Wow! What a blast! I can't remember the last time I had this much fun with my clothes on.
Cheryl & I are really delighted that such a great bunch of people came out to party with the Barista last night. We saw a lot of old friends & made a ton of new. Kudos to Debbie, Liz & Laura for doing such a sensational job putting this shindig together.
