If I could fly, as my husband pointed out to me, I wouldn't have to worry about parking in Montclair, or anywhere else. He also noted an additional power that might have been on the list ... getting Nextel phone service in Montclair. There's a superpower I could have used on a few occasions.

At first I was going to choose the power to fly, but then it occurred to me that one day I might have to declare bankruptcy and shred my own pension.

Then I was going to choose the ability to park anywhere, but I figured that the Celebrity Metermaid would still end up ticketing me.

So I settled on the power of invisibility. Imagine the investigative reporting I could do as an invisible mouse in the corner of every meeting of corrupt business and government officials!

Well, there's a downside to that one, too. I'd probably end up whining over my lost youth, wishing I could go back to those high school days when I had that very daydream every time I passed the girls' locker room.

If I'd only lost my innocence sooner, maybe I wouldn't be a step behind the curve today....
