April 1
...serving up your daily dish.
Turnabout really is fair play, even for Montclair's very own super couple. Steven Plofker, who once famously said
"Men are accessories. Really, we are. And sometimes, women want to accessorize their accessory..."
is now trumping his wife, cosmetics diva Bobbi Brown, by starting his own line of menswear. Plofker debuted his clothing line at a gala recently and the response from fashionistas has been overwhelmingly positive.
Locally, orders have already flooded in, reports Soprano Sue. "James Gandolfini and the guy who plays Furio went crazy for those white silk ties. They said it reminded them of John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever." Plofker was gracious when it came to revealing the inspiration for his new collection:
"I got the idea from Dick Grabowsky. He was talking about people who were willing to spend $500 for belts and I thought 'Geez why am I busting my hump building homes when I could make that kind of dough selling clothes?'"
In related news, Plofker has scrapped his original plans for the Marlboro Inn land in order to accommodate his son's growing skateboarding fetish. "We're calling it the Marlboro Inn Skate Park and we're planning on building a very tasteful, 10 foot high brick wall around the entire property so kids don't skate onto Grove Street. I think the neighbors will really be pleased."

Is this an April Fool's joke? I'm sure the part about the skate park is.

I guess Dylan, Dakota, and Duke didn't like the fashion idea, so they got the skate park.

The best April Fools I've seen is the one on PoliticsNJ, which says that Bill Bradley is challenging Corzine for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination. I plotzed, picked up the phone, and realized my mistake before putting in what would have been an embarassing phone call.
