...serving up your daily dish.
The route from Upper West Side to Park Slope to Montclair is so well-tread that the antique Oriental runners that link the three communities is practically thread-bare. Does it surprise anyone that the Barista used to live in Park Slope? And the West Side? No, we didn't think so.
Now comes word that there's actually a Yahoo group for people who've (gulp) jumped off the edge of the civilized world (Brooklyn) and, like Laura Ingalls Wilder, made off for the territories (New Jersey).
Mostly it's a lot of hand-holding (yes, Brooklyn, there are art-house movies here) ... and speculation on the mysteries of yard work.
What we're wondering about is the possibility of a Yahoo group going the other way, for people who have launched their families and want back in the big city. For some of us, it's not so far away. Has anyone (gulp?) taken that plunge?

Many years ago, while my wife and I were living at the Corner of Park and The Crescent, we considered moving back to our 6th Ave Apt in Brooklyn.
But in the few years of NJ living, the rent had gone up $500 a month. Add in the 5% increase in income taxes, and the ever shrinking space... it's a difficult leap to make.
Now as Glen Ridge homeowner, the leap would be even harder.
I still wonder sometimes...
