Jazz and classical trumpeter Wynton Marsalis will be speaking at Bloomfield College's commence ceremony May 27. That's because he's pals with one of the grads, Rayshawn Brown. The two met playing pick-up basketball in Manhattan around 1994, but became close after a 1998 incident in which Brown, traveliing to college basketball tryouts with four friends, was shot by NJ state troopers. In 2001, Brown was a roadie on a Marsalis tour.

Brown graduates with 3.3 grade point average and major in Internet technology. Slam dunk.
